MBTI

The Myers-Briggs® system consists of four preference pairs that reflect different aspects of personality.

The assessment looks at the following:

  • Favorite world: Do you prefer to focus on the outer world or on your own inner world?  This is called Extraversion (E) or Introversion (I).

  • Information: Do you prefer to focus on the basic information you take in or do you prefer to interpret and add meaning?  This is called Sensing (S) or Intuition (N). 

  • Decisions: When making decisions, do you prefer to first look at logic and consistency or first look at the people and special circumstances? This is called Thinking (T) or Feeling (F). 

  • Structure: In dealing with the outside world, do you prefer to get things decided or do you prefer to stay open to new information and options? This is called Judging (J) or Perceiving (P).

Hogan’s Leadership Forecast Series includes the three automated tests described below.  Each survey provides unique data points that are predictive of different work-related outcomes. 

HPI

The Hogan Personality Inventory (HPI) describes normal, or bright-side personality – qualities that describe how we relate to others when we are at our best.

HDS

The Hogan Development Survey (HDS) describes the dark side of personality – qualities that emerge in times of increased strain and can disrupt relationships, damage reputations, and derail peoples’ chances of success.

MVPI

The Motives, Values, Preferences Inventory (MVPI) describes personality from the inside – the core goals, values, drivers, and interests that determine what we desire and strive to attain.

The Leadership Circle Profile

The Leadership Circle Profile measures evaluators’ aggregated input versus participants’ perceptions. This shows us the gaps and synergies from which development begins.

The Leadership Circle Profile is an assessment instrument that measures the two primary leadership domains — Creative Competencies and Reactive Tendencies.

It measures underlying beliefs and assumptions—the habits of thought that run much of our behavior. As leaders gain these insights, they have much higher leverage to make transformative change.
